Are you heading to the New Forest Show for first time? Maybe you’ve just moved to the area and are excited to experience what the Show is all about, maybe you’re a tourist who’s travelled to Hampshire specifically to see this year’s offering, or maybe you’ve bought tickets for the first time simply to see what one of the largest and most prestigious agricultural events in the UK is all about.  

Whatever your reason for visiting us for the first time in 2026, this is the definitive guide on what to expect when you show up for a day of tradition, community and (most importantly) spectacular fun! 

What Is the New Forest Show?

For over a century, the New Forest and Hampshire County Show has promoted horticulture, forestry, equestrianism, and rural crafts. Organised by the New Forest Agricultural Show Society, a charity founded in 1920 – the Show has grown into a major three-day celebration of countryside life in the heart of the New Forest National Park.

The Show is located at The Showground, New Park, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, SO42 7QH, and this year will take place on Tuesday 28, Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 of July. 

If you’re arriving at the Show via car you can park in the field adjacent to the Showground, which is open from 6.30am and is free of charge. When the gates open at 8am into a world of forest fun, head in and grab yourself a Showguide – this will include a map of the Showground, and all the important timetables and information you’ll need to enjoy the Show to its fullest potential.

What Are the Main Attractions this year?

If you’re after the main event, head to the East Ring to see our main act for 2026: Horsepower Fury by Steelehorse. This adrenaline fuelled stunt show, featuring champion horses and elite motorbike riders, will have you on the edge of your seat, transfixed on the incredible live performance! The main ring also features traditional classics such as the Grand Parade – which will see award-winning livestock, including cattle and sheep, prance across the ring – showing only the best of the best. Also not to be missed is the Old Time Farming Parade and the iconic Tug of War – which anyone can get involved with! Which Animals Can You See at the Show?

If you’re here for the animals, you really will be spoilt for choice. Visit the Equine Rings to view a variety of stunning events including some jaw dropping showjumping from prize winning horses, and the Heavy Horse Musical Drive which sees sixteen pairs of Shire horses perform a stunning display of equine excellence, driving perfectly in sync to music. If your kids fancy turning into show jumping horses for the day, why not head over to the Hobby Horse Ring where they can saddle up and show everyone what they’ve got!  

There is also the chance to see the finest cattle and sheep around in their respective rings, as well as interact with smaller furries in the Countryside Area which includes ferret racing, Falconry, and a plethora of events featuring man’s best friend. You can also hop on over to the Dog Ring to see everything from agility courses, scent work and, who could forget, the Show’s famous dog show – which owners can enter their own pooches into on the day. 

Can You Watch Live Music at the New Forest Show?

If you’re after those festival season vibes, make your way back to the entrance to The Main Stage and enjoy the musical stylings of New Forest-trained singer-songwriters, alt-rock bands influenced by the likes of Paramore and Green Day, and a Jazz duo covering Aretha Franklin and Van Morrison. If you’ve splashed out on a 2026 membership you can also head to the Bandstand on the Members’ Lawn which offers a more intimate listening experience and can be enjoyed with champagne in hand. 

What Food and Drink Is Available?

It wouldn’t be the New Forest Show if you couldn’t nibble on something delicious while enjoying all the spectacular events on offer this July, and luckily there is something for all tastes. Whether you fancy Chicken Katsu from Myo’s Japanese Fusion, a delectable, sweet treat from Bambi’s Bakes, or a traditional Cornish Pasty or Scotch Egg. Of course you can’t enjoy a meal without a little tipple to wash it down with – why not head to Bluestone Vinyards for a taste of their premium sparkling wine, or enjoy a nice, refreshing pint in one of the (many) beer tents? You can also head to our brand new onsite wine bar – The Stirrup & Vine, brought to life in partnership with Dorset based brewery and hospitality group Hall & Woodhouse.

If you’ve had your fill of eating but are still a keen foodie, then head over to the cookery demonstration theatre for an array of delightful (and delicious) cooking demonstrations from top local chefs. You’ll see Sutti Se-Upara from Anissa’s Thai Kitchen in Lyndhurst, Andrew Du Bourg from The Elderflower Restaurant in Lymington and Tim Follett and Adrian Meli from The White Heart – who will be crafting up a storm with some taste bud tingling cocktails! There’s even workshops for mini food lovers in the form of Little Joe’s Kitchen and Kids Game Cookery School which offers interactive sessions designed to introduce children to simple cooking skills using locally sourced ingredients, including game and foraged produce. 

Is the New Forest Show Good for Families?

If you’re visiting the Show for the first time with little ones – don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with a huge array of fun, hands on activities that kids can get stuck into. Head over to the Family Fun Area to enjoy lively entertainment including Crazy M and Joey’s shows, party dances, and a pantomime. There’s also an opportunity to watch performances from the Wessex School of Dance, Love Soul Choir, and Artisan Theatre, plus circus skills, Bonkers Bingo, and a Silent Disco. The Farm Experience Zone is also a must visit if you come to the Show with little ones in tow! The area offers a hands-on journey through how food gets from field to fork, plus the creme de la creme of the area – mini, drivable tractors!
