The Rt Hon Lord Benyon at the New Forest Show
The New Forest and Hampshire Show 2023 will be hosting the Rt Hon Lord Benyon.
Lord Benyon is the Minister of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Minister for Biosecurity, Marine and Rural Affairs).
In the morning he will be touring the Showground, meeting exhibitors and competitors, learning about the County’s history, environment and culture. In particular, a trip to the Heart of the Forest sections where he will meet the New Forest Verderers and and New Forest Commoners Defence Association, who administer the Forest’s historic tradition of Commoning and how to preserve this ancient way of life. Plus, the New Forest National Park Authority will have a stand there with information and activities about their vital conservation work protecting the New Forest.
He will also drop by the Hampshire Police Drone Display to see how the authorities are implementing new technologies to combat rural crime, and later, he will be giving a speech on Animal Health & Welfare.
