An action-packed schedule! – New Forest Show 2023
The New Forest and Hampshire County Show is back for 2023!
Our historic festival of agriculture and the countryside has been running of over 100 years, and we’re still going strong!
This year will have an action-packed line up of spectacular displays, featuring The REME Lightning Bolts Army Parachute Display Team flying into the Main Rings! There will also be International Showjumping and the Pony Club Mounted Games alongside old favourites like the Heavy Horse Musical Drive and Grand Parade.
Throughout the whole three days of the Show, we will be hosting a wide array of Equine and Livestock competitions. You’ll be able to see a variety majestic Horse, Sheep and Cow breeds, some of which you may never have seen before! Meet the owners and learn about their animals, then watch them compete in a series of classes. New for this year is the National Dexter Show.
Around the Showground will be a wide array of competitions and activities to get involved with, like the Old Time Farm section with its functioning display of gorgeous vintage machinery. The WWII Land Army Ladies will also be there, showcasing the essential role the women of wartime Britain played in keeping the nation going during our darkest hour.
The Canine Ring will feature plenty of dog-related entertainment whilst the Countryside Area will have live falconry and a variety of get-involved activities. Also in the Countryside Area, The Cookery Demonstration Kitchen will feature a line up of top pro chefs giving masterclass demonstrations for anyone looking for culinary inspiration.
Immerse yourself in farm life in the Farming Experience Zone, where you can learn all about agricultural machinery, crops and keeping livestock to see if you’ve got what it takes to work the land!
Brand new for 2023: Culture in Common and the Rabbit Village!
Culture in Common! This section is dedicated to the arts and culture. It will feature an amazing programme of live music, dance and other performances delivered by professional arts and local cultural organisations. There will be plenty of activities as well, such as trying your hand at the ukulele or learning how to draw cartoons, there’s fun for the whole family.
Rabbit Village! We are delighted to be showcasing ‘rabbit village’ where you can see rabbits in a revolutionary ‘Runaround’ warren style set up that allows them to display their natural behaviours. Come to the village to learn all there is to know about all aspects of rabbit care, and be inspired to give them the happy lives they deserve.
As always, our Festival of Food and Drink will be offering the finest craft produce from around the local area in addition to cuisines from around the world. You can shop till you drop too, with over 500 tradestands offering everything from hats to hot tubs.
Visit the Honey and Bee tent to see their real, enclosed beehive and learn about beekeeping with live demonstrations. The Arts and Crafts tent will let you bring out your creative side.
With other entertainment ranging from Crazy M the clown in the Family Fun Area to live Blacksmithing and much, much more, the New Forest Show will be a truly fantastic family day out!
