If you love vintage machinery, interested in traditional farming methods, or just enjoy a good dose of nostalgia and history, the Old Time Farming section at the New Forest Show is not to be missed.

From 28–30 July 2026, head over to this much-loved corner of New Park and experience farming as it was done in the last century – complete with working demonstrations, vintage tractors, steam engines and more. It’s a fascinating celebration of heritage and the perfect spot for both enthusiasts and curious visitors.

See Traditional Farming in Action

Each day, you’ll witness live demonstrations of cutting, threshing, and milling – showcasing the tools and techniques once vital to farm life. These working displays bring the past to life, offering a rare glimpse into the dedication and craftsmanship behind farming in the early 1900s.

And don’t miss the daily Old Time Farming Parade in the Main Ring, where vintage machinery rolls out in all its glory.

Meet the Machines That Shaped a Generation

This year, we’re celebrating some important contributions that Harry Ferguson made to the development of agricultural machinery. Particularly the three point hydraulic system and the iconic Ferguson System. You’ll find everything from stationary engines and classic tractors to massive threshing drums and saw benches – all lovingly maintained by passionate exhibitors.

And for a bit of family fun, keep an eye out for the tug of war competition between the powerful Ford 5000 and 7000 tractors and a brave team of children in the Main Ring!

Step into the Past with Wartime Re-enactments

Experience the spirit of wartime Britain with re-enactors from the Land Army, complete with vintage tools, produce from local gardens, and even a beautifully restored 1930s Fordson Standard tractor.

Also this year we welcome back Jo Float and The Lumber Jills demonstrating the wartime army of women who worked the forest and sawmills providing Timber from pit props to for Mosquito fighter bombers. They will be giving live talks discussions and demonstrations each day.

You’ll also find the ever-popular Victorian Ladies who will be accepting donations which goes to charity – so it’s for a great cause!

Discover the Power of Stationary Engines

A vital part of farming history, stationary engines powered everything from milking machines to water pumps before the arrival of electricity. These engines will be on show and in action throughout the day, with exhibitors on hand to share their stories and answer questions.
