Sheep

The Sheep Section is a long established and much loved part of the New Forest Show, showcasing a wide variety of breeds and the dedication of the farmers and breeders who care for them.

A Wide Range of Breeds
Over the three days of the Show, more than 160 classes will take place, attracting over 30 different breeds of sheep from across the region and beyond. From traditional British breeds to modern commercial sheep, the classes highlight the diversity, quality and skill involved in sheep breeding.

The Dedication Behind the Ring
Each class brings together experienced exhibitors who take great pride in presenting their animals to the highest standard. Preparing sheep for the show ring takes time, patience and careful attention, and visitors often enjoy seeing the finishing touches taking place around the pens before judging begins.

Learn From the Experts
Many of the exhibitors are happy to talk to visitors about their breeds and explain what makes each one unique. With ringside commentary throughout the judging, you can learn more about what the judges are looking for and gain a real insight into the skill behind producing a champion sheep.
