Celebrating the Best of the New Forest
This year’s Show brought together traditional favourites, exciting new additions, and plenty of memorable moments across every corner of the showground. Here’s what some of our section heads had to say about their 2025 experience:
Old Time Farming – Simon Vining
“We celebrated the journey from field to kitchen – starting with reaping and threshing, and ending with fresh baking on a Victorian range. We also marked the 80th anniversary of the Fordson E27N and 60 years of the 1000 Series. A huge thank you to Peter Baily for his 25 years of dedication to this section.”

Blacksmiths & Farriers – Andy Waight
“This year’s show proved to be one of the most successful in recent memory for the Blacksmiths & Farriers. Returning to our classic location between the Food Hall and Old Time Farming for the 2025 event brought a fantastic buzz, with excellent footfall in the marquee—especially on Tuesday and Wednesday, when the brighter weather drew even more visitors. With such great momentum, we’re already looking forward to making the 2026 show our best yet!”

Sheep – Paul Atyeo
“We were delighted to receive near-record entries and welcome so many new competitors. The result was an outstanding display of over 30 different sheep breeds from across southern England and beyond. Thank you to everyone who helped make the section such a success.”

Cattle – Brian Ingram
“We had a very good show this year with top-quality cattle and fantastic exhibitors. Everyone worked really well together, and we always hear how much people enjoy coming to the New Forest Show.”

British Motorcycles – Janet Mitchel
“We displayed 19 British motorcycles this year, drawing lots of interest and great conversations. Our team is always on hand to chat with visitors, and our exhibitors enjoyed their stay!”

Vegetable Show – Alison Clarke
“What a year! We had more entries than ever, and the quality of the veg was fantastic. Visitors especially loved the cuddly vegetable display, the ‘guess the weight’ giant marrow competition, and our record-breaking cucumber! Thank you to everyone who made it so special.”

Women’s Institute – Pauline Slade
“Our ‘Wonderfully Wild’ themed marquee welcomed nearly 600 exhibits and over 7,000 visitors. We were proud to display 68 handmade quilts destined for the PICU at Southampton Hospital, alongside a wonderful mix of crafts, chutneys, and creative displays. Thank you for all the kind comments – we loved hearing them!”

Family Fun Area – Crazy M
“We had an amazing time! Thank you to the Love Soul Choir, Wessex School of Dance, Artisan Theatre School, and our brilliant activity partners including Bella Crafts, Glitter Fairies, and Funky Playbus. Our new additions like the silent disco, giant bubbles and Bonkers Bingo were a hit with all ages. Huge thanks to our team – and we’re already planning next year!”

Showground Control – Jim Evans
“With great weather and excellent preparation by the grounds team, the 2025 Show ran smoothly behind the scenes. Lost Property saw its fair share of activity too – a reminder to check before you leave next time!”
Flower and Garden Show – Annette Baines-Stiller
“Our area is really coming to life in my third year as Chair. The Elegant Entrances category, and the lunch time music slots are proving popular. Exhibitor numbers are up, thanks to word of mouth recommendations from current exhibitors to new applicants. A thank you to the committee and Stewards that keep the Flower and Garden Show wheels turning.”
