ABOUT

THE NEW FOREST AGRICULTURAL
SHOW SOCIETY
For over 100 years, the New Forest and Hampshire County Show has promoted agriculture, horticulture, forestry, equestrianism, and rural crafts.
Organised by the New Forest Agricultural Show Society, a charity founded in 1920 — the Show has grown into a major three-day celebration of countryside life in the heart of the New Forest National Park.
We also run Longmeadow, our popular campsite, which has welcomed visitors to the Forest for over 16 years.
By attending or becoming a member, you help support our charitable work — from education days and tree planting to preserving rural skills for future generations.
What We’ve Achieved This Year!

mini forest project
We’ve planted over 5,500 trees and shrubs as part of our Mini Forests project — with the help of 500 schoolchildren and 200 volunteers.

Schools Education Day
Our popular Schools Education Day returned in June, giving local children the chance to enjoy fun, hands-on activities like meeting livestock and a New Forest pony, learning about beekeeping, forestry, rural crafts, and even making cheese and butter.

campsite activities
Over the year we have hosted educational activities and guided walks from our Camping New Forest campsites.
Heathcote Award
The Heathcote award is designed to recognise and celebrate individuals who have dedicated 30 or more years of exemplary service in agriculture, forestry, equestrianism or horticulture within the New Forest or Hampshire County.

The Samantha & Florence Bailey Bursary
Launched in memory of Samantha Bailey and her unborn daughter Florence, the bursary supports young people in Hampshire pursuing a future in agriculture, offering funding for students attending agricultural college and for individuals undertaking short courses that enhance their career in the industry.
Established in 2018, it honours Sam’s passion for farming and her contributions to the New Forest Show. Applicants must demonstrate how the funding will benefit their career in agriculture and personal development, with priority given to those who show clear potential to make the most of the opportunity.
