We’re thrilled to announce that award winning local chef Colin Nash, founder of the Colin Nash Restaurant at The Retreat in Hinton, will be taking to the Demo Kitchen stage at this year’s New Forest Show!

Catch Colin live on Tuesday 29th July at 1PM, where he’ll be sharing his culinary knowledge, passion for local produce, and a glimpse into what makes his food some of the most talked-about in the New Forest.

A Chef with Deep Roots in the South

With more than 30 years of experience behind him, Colin has worked in some of the region’s most respected kitchens – including Stanwell House, The Three Tuns, and Bournemouth Poole College. His impressive career has earned him a reputation not just for cooking exceptional food, but for doing so with real care and creativity.

At his own restaurant at The Retreat, Hinton, Colin focuses on a commitment to fresh, local ingredients – creating dishes that are elegant, flavourful, and deeply connected to the surrounding land and sea.

Passionate About Sustainability and Seasonality

What sets Colin apart isn’t just his skill – it’s his ethos. A keen hunter and fisherman, he’s developed an intricate understanding of sustainable and regenerative food sourcing. From wild venison reared on the Hinton Admiral Estate to fresh fish caught off Mudeford, everything he serves is thoughtfully selected and responsibly sourced.

This respect for ingredients shines through in his cooking, and visitors to the Demo Kitchen can expect to learn how Colin brings this mindful approach to life in every dish.
