Paws up for Hoburne Bashley as the park raises thousands for Canine Partners

Hoburne Bashley has presented Canine Partners with a cheque for £6,962 following a year of fundraising for the park’s nominated charity.

The team at Hoburne Bashley initially pledged to raise £5,000 for the UK charity that trains assistance dogs to transform the lives of people with disabilities, boosting their confidence and independence. The dogs are taught a range of everyday tasks, including picking up and fetching items, opening doors, and dressing a person.
Employees, holiday homeowners and holidaymakers staying at the New Forest-based park all helped to raise thousands with numerous fundraisers taking place, including bake sales, raffles, a football match, and dog show.
Hoburne Holidays also supported the charity through a holiday booking donation scheme. The company donated £1 to Canine Partners for every holiday booked during 2019.
Canine Partners celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and since the charity was founded, it has created over 880 partnerships.
Commenting on the donation, Hoburne Bashley customer experience manager, Susan Hunt said: “We would like to thank everyone who has supported us and generously donated throughout the year – colleagues, family, friends and our wonderful holiday homeowners and holidaymakers.
“We are delighted to be able to support Canine Partners and raise such a fantastic amount. The work the charity does and the stories we have heard about the amazing partnerships is admirable and inspiring, seeing how they can change and transform a life.”
Gemma Tupper, community engagement officer at Canine Partners, added: “We are extremely grateful to all the staff and visitors at Hoburne Bashley who made their year of fundraising such a huge success. This donation will enable us to continue our work training assistance dogs to transforms the lives of people with physical disabilities.”
