Exciting improvements announced for the 2018 New Forest & Hampshire County Show
We are delighted to announce a number of exciting improvements to the New Forest & Hampshire County Show that we hope will enhance your day at the Show. These improvements follow feedback received from the 2017 Show and include enhancements to the layout of the showground, new themed areas and alterations to the ticket policy.
The aims are to:
– Reduce the number of commercial tradestands at the Show
-Enhance the traditional elements of the Show to support our charitable remit to promote and educate agriculture, horticulture, forestry and equestrianism
-Reduce the cost for families to attend the Show
-Work with more local organisations
-Ensure the Show isn’t the same every year
The improvements include:
-A new ticket policy – Any child (5-15) coming to the 2018 Show with a paying adult / senior ticket holder will now be able to enter Free of Charge. All other tickets will also be held at last year’s prices. All under 5s enter Free of Charge.
-A brand new Sports Zone providing visitors the opportunity to take part in free training sessions with local clubs and organisations including the Saints Foundation, England Netball and Hampshire Cricket
-We are expanding and improving the extremely popular Countryside Area with a larger demonstration ring, fly fishing pond and are currently working on ways to better reflect the local countryside.
-Expansion of the Local Produce Market to embrace food and farming in one place. There will be more local food producers, three days of interactive activities and a chance to participate in cookery demonstrations. The expansion will include improvements to the livestock area.
-In collaboration with the New Forest Business Partnership we will be hosting a Local Business Village, providing a platform for local organisations to showcase their products and services. We hope this will allow more local people to become involved with the Show.
-The Show will now be open for longer!! Gates will open when the first classes begin at 8.00am and not close until 6.30pm.
-A brand new main ring attraction. Atkinson Action Horses supported by Shorefield Holidays, are taking their fearless team of stunt riders and horses on a unique tour all around the UK including the New Forest and Hampshire County Show. With recent credits from Poldark, Victoria, Peaky Blinders, The Living and the Dead & Hippopotamus – it is guaranteed this elite force has at some point invaded your TV screen!
-Improvements have also been made to the public entrance and a number of avenues to help visitors have a better day at the Show. There will be fewer tradestands and more interactive activities. Unfortunately this has resulted in the loss of the Antiques Tent. We hope to be able to accommodate the Antiques exhibitors in other areas of the Show.

The New Forest and Hampshire County Show is run by a charity (The New Forest Agricultural Show Society) whose aims are to promote and educate agriculture, horticulture, forestry and equestrianism.
