Getting Here - New Forest Show

The Showground, New Forest National Park, Brockenhurst SO42 7QH

The Show opens at 8.15am and closes at 6.30pm each day.

We try to ensure that getting to The Show is as easy as possible, whether you arrive by car, public transport, on foot or by bike. We encourage visitors to travel by modes other than the car to improve your Show experience and manage the travel impact of the Show on the local community. 

We are pleased to be able to continue to provide a Free of Charge direct frequent shuttle bus between Brockenhurst Station direct to the heart of the Show for advanced ticket holders and members.

TRAIN

We are just a few minutes from Brockenhurst station from where you can get a direct, regular shuttle bus. It is free to use if you’ve purchased your ticket for The New Forest and Hampshire County Show in advance, or £3 adult return. (£2 child). If you are travelling by train with others, there are some amazing value discounts available from your train company. Further information on tickets and train times are available from South Western Railway . The shuttle bus between Brockenhurst Station and the Showground runs from 7.30am until 7.00pm

 

  • London, Reading, Basingstoke and Winchester corridor

    Did you know? It takes 89 minutes to get to the Forest from London and a quick free shuttle bus from Brockenhurst to the Show ground. The train can cost as little as £28 per person return if you travel using a railcard with at least one other. If you travelled by car it would take you over 2hrs – and a lot longer with traffic and although it would cost a little less than the train you can’t play with the kids, read or sleep

  • Portsmouth, Chichester and beyond

    Did you know? We are just a few minutes from Brockenhurst station from where you can get a direct, regular shuttle bus.   • Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth Corridor

    Did you know? It takes about 30 minutes get from Bournemouth to the Showground and it can cost from £7.50 per person return if you travel using a railcard with at least one other. If you travelled by car it would take about 1hr and a lot longer with traffic and although it would cost about the same as the train you can’t play with the kids, read or sleep!

  • Isle of Wight

    Did you know? There is a City Link free bus service every 30 minutes between the Red Funnel Ferry terminal at Town Quay and Southampton Central Railway Station. The Show ground is a few minutes from Brockenhurst station from where you can get a direct, regular shuttle bus. It is free to use if you’ve bought your ticket for The Show in advance or £3 adult return (£2 child). If you are travelling by train with others there are some amazing value discounts available from your train company.   • Salisbury, Bath and Bristol corridor

    Did you know? It takes about 2hrs to get from Bath to the Showground and it can cost from £28 per person return if you travel using a railcard with at least one other. If you travelled by car it would take about the same time and a lot longer with traffic and although it would cost a little less than the train you can’t play with the kids, read or sleep!

BUS

For information on getting to the Show by bus please use the journey planner at My Journey Hampshire  but please remember this does not include the shuttle bus that runs from Brockenhurst to the Showground on show days. The Showground is served by the Bluestar 6/ Forest Bus, hourly, from Southampton City Centre via Millbrook, Redbridge and Totton.

SHUTTLE BUS

We are pleased to be able to offer a shuttle bus service between the showground and Brockenhurst Train Station. This service will be free for all advance ticket holders and members. The Shuttle bus will run every 15 minutes from 7.30am until 7pm. All non-advance ticket holders and welcome to use the service, however charges will apply: £3 return for adults and £2 return for children.

WALKING & CYCLING

Cycling to the Show….. We are pleased to offer safe and secure cycle parking for those coming to the Show on their bikes. Our bike parking area is located close to the entrance as can be seen on this map along with local cycle routes. For full details of local cycle routes visit here. The New Forest has an amazing network of local cycle routes and while cycling on local roads is an option we’d strongly advise you to make use of the network of off-road paths.

The closest off road cycle path in number 257. Downloads this free map from the New Forest National Park Authority. The bike parking will be located close to the public entrance, close to the ticket booths.

Your bike helmets and equipment can be securely stored at the ‘Shop and Drop’ located next to the Public Entrance.

Walking to the Show…..We are a 30-45 minute walk from the centre of Brockenhurst. We strongly advise you to choose routes away from the main roads of the Forest. Further information on local walking routes in the New Forest is available here.

    CAR

    If you are travelling by car then why not car share? We have created a page on Lift Share that will enable you to search for visitors making the same journey to the Show. However if you are driving to the Show, there is a car park adjacent to the Showground. Parking is free of charge for all. Please be aware roads into the area can get busy on Show days so you are advised to arrive early. For the quickest route, we would encourage you to use the directions below and NOT the A337 from Cadnam to Lyndhurst.

    • From East (London, Winchester, Southampton)

      There is a car park adjacent to the Showground. Parking is free of charge for all. Please be aware roads into the area can get particularly busy on show days and you are advised to arrive early. For the quickest route, we would encourage you to use the directions below and NOT the A337 from Cadnam to Lyndhurst. Exit the M27 at junction 2 and follow the signs to the Show.

    • From West (Dorchester, Weymouth, Bournemouth, Poole)

      There is a car park adjacent to the Showground. Parking is free of charge for all. Please be aware roads into the area can get particularly busy on show days and you are advised to arrive early. For the quickest route, we would encourage you to use the directions below and NOT the A337 from Cadnam to Lyndhurst. Exit the A31 just after Ringwood at Picket Post heading towards Burley and follow the signs for the Show.

    • From South (Christchurch, New Milton)

      There is a car park adjacent to the Showground. Parking is free of charge for all. Please be aware roads into the area can get particularly busy on show days and you are advised to arrive early. For the quickest route, we would encourage you to use the directions below and NOT the A337 from Cadnam to Lyndhurst. Exit the A35 at Station Road and follow signs to the Show.

    • From North (Salisbury, Bath)

      There is a car park adjacent to the Showground. Parking is free of charge for all. Please be aware roads into the area can get particularly busy on show days and you are advised to arrive early. For the quickest route, we would encourage you to use the directions below and NOT the A337 from Cadnam to Lyndhurst. Follow A36 to Ower and follow signs to the Show.
