2017 Charity of the Year - Piam Brown Ward | New Forest Show

2017 Charity of the Year – Piam Brown Ward

The Piam Brown ward based at Southampton General Hospital has been chosen by the New Forest Agricultural Show Society as their charity of the year for 2017.

Piam Brown ward was chosen by the Society’s current Presidents, Geoff and Judy Morgan. Both Geoff and Judy have a long association with the Show. Piam Brown ward is part of Southampton Children’s hospital which provides treatment, care and support from children from birth to 16 years who have sadly been diagnosed with cancer. It is one of only 22 regional centres across the UK and some patients along with their parents can stay on the ward for several months depending on their treatment.

“We are very grateful to the New Forest and Hampshire County show for choosing Piam Brown ward as their 2017 Charity of the Year. The support will make a huge difference to lives of our young patients and their families.” Rachel Funnell, Piam Brown Charity Coordinator at Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity

Support from the New Forest and Hampshire County Show will help fund:
– Toys, craft materials and activities for the play room
– Trips and outgoings for families to enjoy together
– Facilities for parents
– Specialist equipment
– Pioneering research and training
– Outreach nurses to support families at home
