Heart of The Forest has a new location for 2016
The Heart of the Forest is a wonderful area of the New Forest and Hampshire County Show which brings together the main administrative groups from the New Forest as well as local expert bodies too. Some groups attending the 2016 Show include the commoners defence association as well as important voluntary conservation organisation groups. Visitors are guaranteed to find an expert on any area of the forest whether it may be administration, its history or the management of its livestock.
New Charitable organisations joining the Heart of the Forest for the first time is New Forest Carriage Driving for the Disabled. They organise rides out onto the forest giving people with disabilities access onto areas of the New Forest they otherwise many not be able to see.
The Heart of the Forest Area has a new location on the showground for the 2016 New Forest and Hampshire County Show. Situated between the Members’ Lawn and Show Ring 1 the Area is now located further along the Northern Avenue.The change of location will encourage more visitors to visit this wonderful section of the showground as well as reducing congestion along the Northern Avenue.
Demonstrations
In the centre of the Heart of the Forest Area, the New Forest Commoners will be demonstrating their wood branding skills and answering questions visitors may have about the fascinating tradition. Demonstration will be taking place throughout all three days of the Show.
Lecture Theatre
The Lecture Theatre in the Heart of the Forest Area has a diverse timetable of short talks (20 minutes long) and presentations from local organisations throughout all three days of the Show. The presentations are a great way of learning about different aspects of the forest from the experts themselves.
BBC Radio Solent will also be recording two episodes of their popular Sunday afternoon feature, Gardeners Question Time on Thursday 28th July in the lecture theatre. Their recordings will take place at 11am and 1pm in the lecture theatre and will feature a panel of gardening experts. Visitors to the New Forest and Hampshire County Show will be invited to take part in the recordings.
The 2016 New Forest and Hampshire County Show is taking place on 26th, 27th and 28th July at New Park, Brockenhurst.
